Allison Mudrey Completes Illustrious Career for Behrend Lions

Behrend Lions women's tennis senior Allison Mudrey (Hermitage/Hickory) has concluded her outstanding tennis career for the blue and white as the program's top player.

"Allison has dominated our league and opponents for four years," said tenth year head coach Jeff Barger. "She is the best and deserves the recognition. We are going to miss her."

Tennis at Penn State Behrend began back in 1974 and nobody has achieved the level of success that Mudrey reached. During her outstanding career for the Behrend Lions, Mudrey posted an amazing 59-7 (.894) record en route to capturing three straight team Most Valuable Player Awards, and three consecutive Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Player of the Year awards. The 59 wins eclipsed Jamie Brubaker's mark of 58-18 during the 1997-2000 seasons.

If the singles excellence was not enough, Mudrey followed it with a 49-3 (.942) doubles record. It is the second most victories in program history, trailing only Mindy Calvert's 50-11 mark from 2003-2006.

The team captain anchored the Behrend Lions at the number-one singles and doubles slots for four seasons guiding the program to a 55-9 overall team record and three consecutive AMCC regular-season and conference tournament titles. Mudrey also earned Academic All-Conference honors as well.
