Volleyball Moves to 3-0 in the AMCC with Sweep of Pitt-Greensburg

On Saturday, September 29, the Penn State Behrend women's volleyball team took on the Pitt-Greensburg Bobcats in their third AMCC match of the season.  The blue and white improved to 3-0 in league play with a 30-17, 30-28, 30-27 sweep of the Bobcats.

Behrend came out on fire in game one, building an early lead and cruising to a 13-point win.  Games two and three were back-and-forth contests, but in both games the Behrend Lions had enough to edge Pitt-Greensburg and capture the win.

Top players of the day included Carissa Johnston (Cambridge Springs) who had ten kills, Jenna Benzenhoeffer (Murrysville/Franklin Regional) had five kills and three blocks, Jenna Kelly (Grove City/Grove City) had five kills and two blocks, and Deanna Ciccarelli (Pittsburgh/Penn Hills) who tallied 15 digs and 3 service aces for the blue and white.  The women are now 12-5 overall.

The Behrend Lions will next travel to Lake Erie on Tuesday, October 2 to conclude four straight games of conference play.  Then it will be onto Fredonia State on Saturday, October 5 where they will compete in the Blue Devil's annual tournament.  The blue and white will play Mt. St. Joseph's and Oneonta in the first day of matches.
