Hennessy Named Enterprise RENT-A-CAR Athlete of the Week

defensive specialist Brittany Hennessy (Hopewell/Hopewell) has been named
the Enterprise RENT-A-CAR athlete of the week for the week of November 17,
2008.
Hennessy led the Behrend Lions to an ECAC South Region Championship over the
weekend. In the first round of the ECAC Championships Hennessy led the
defense with 16 digs and would follow up that performance in the semi-final
match with 23 digs. Hennessy closed out her career by racking up a
match-high 30 digs in the championship match. In the semi-final match
Hennessy, Behrend's all-time leader in digs with 2,160 in her career, was
awarded the ECAC Most Outstanding Player award for the tournament.
Hennessy tallied 388 digs on the year averaging 4.26 digs per game. In
her four year career she has a record of 98-33.
The ECAC volleyball championship is the first for the Penn State Behrend
volleyball program, and this was the team's second ever tournament
appearance. In 2006, the blue and white won a
school-record 29 matches and went 2-1 in the ECAC South Championship to
finish as the runners-up.
