Men's Water Polo Players Named to 2007 CWPA All-Academic Team

Five members of the Behrend men's water polo team have been named to the 2007 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) All-Academic Team.  The CWPA selected 101 student-athletes to the men's team.  Athletes were nominated by coaches/sports information directors based on their G.P.A.  The were alsoactive participants on the team and full-time students. 

Athletes were recognized in three different categories, based on their most recent grades posted through the 2007-08 fall semester.  Landing a spot in the superior category, which ranges from 3.71 to 3.4, was Keith Yeagle (Warren/Warren) and Nicholas Lowrie (Corona, CA/Santiago).  Yeagle was a key asset in goal for the Behrend Lions, making 235 saves in the 2007 season.  Lowrie played in all 27 games for the blue and white, scoring seven goals. 

Senior Anthony Spoto (Birmingham, MI/Birmingham) fell into the Excellent category with an average between 3.4 and 3.2.  The senior leaves the blue and white as the all-time goal scorer, racking up 276 over his four years at Behrend.  Sophomore Jacob Bernstein (Sierra Madre, CA/Pasadena) and freshman Keith Meehan (Erie/McDowell) made the grades to fall into this category as well.
