Behrend's Andrus Named to AMCC All-Conference Team

Penn State Behrend's Julia Andrus (Corry/Corry) has been named to the 2007-08 AMCC Women's Basketball All-Conference team.  The senior guard was the only player for the Behrend women's basketball team to receive the honors.  This is Andrus's second time being selected for the All-Conference team.

Andrus led the Behrend Lions in scoring, averaging 12.5 ppg and racking up 337 total points this season.  Her name is etched in numerous career record categories at Behrend.  Among many she is second in free-throw percentages, hitting 81.3% over her four years at Behrend.  Andrus also is ninth in all-time scoring, finishing with 975 points over her career. 

This season Andrus was honored by ESPN the Magazine as a selection for the All-District Academic Third-Team by by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).  This was the second consecutive year of being selected.  In the 2006-07 season, she was chosen for the second team. 

After defeating La Roche 63-49 in the first round of the AMCC Tournament, the women advanced to the semi-final game against the Medaille Mavericks (25-2).  The blue and white would fall to the Mavericks 50-26.  Medaille went on to win the 2007-08 AMCC Championship by defeating Pitt-Greensburg 69-55.  The Behrend Lions finished their season with a 14-13 overall record and 11-7 mark in the conference.
