Behrend Lions Cruise To Victory Over Mt. Aloysius 80-49

The Penn State Behrend women’s basketball team evened their record at 5-5 overall and 2-2 in the AMCC on Saturday as they cruised to victory over visiting Mt. Aloysius 80-49.

Behrend was led by junior Rachel Slomski (Erie/McDowell) who poured in a season-high 26 points on 10-of-12 shooting from the floor.  Sophomore Jessica Serafin (Boalsburg/State College) also finished with 15 points for Behrend.

The blue and white forced 28 turnovers in the game and shot 59% from the floor in the second half, as they turned a nine point halftime lead into a 31-point victory.

Leading the way for Mt. Aloysius (3-7, 0-3) were Ashley O'Shell who tallied 15 points and Shana Swan who finished with eight points.

Also contributing for the Behrend Lions were
sophomore Anne Priester (Wattsburg/Seneca) who added 12 points as well as junior Brittany Mays (Keystone/Knoch) who added nine points, five rebounds, and four assists.

The Behrend women are off until next Saturday, January 14 when they host AMCC opponent Pitt-Bradford at 6:00 p.m. in the Junker Center.
