The Behrend Lions shot the lights out on Frostburg Friday night by connecting on 25 of 44 shots (56.8%) from the field and four-of-eight from long distance to improve to 5-0 in league play on the Junker hardwood.

With the win Behrend moves into a tie with the Bobcats and improves to 7-3 in the AMCC and 10-6 overall. Frostburg State is also 7-3 in league play and 11-5 on the season. "Our team played great defensively," said coach Roz Fornari. "It sparked us offensively and gave us the ability to stay within ourselves. We executed our game plan."

After a made lay-in by forward Rachel Slomski (Erie/McDowell) with only 4:06 remaining in the the half, Behrend proceeded to rally. The blue and white scored the final eight points of the period and held the Bobcats scoreless to take a 36-21 lead into half time. FSU's Caryn Wright hit a basket in the paint at 13:43 of the second half to cut the lead to 43-35, but that was as close as they would get. Behrend was led by Jessica Serafin (Boalsburg/State College) who led with 15 points, while Slomski added 13, and Julia Andrus (Corry/Corry) chipped in 11. Frostburg was led by Krystin Hargrove and Wright's
