Behrend Women Hold on to Edge Out Pitt-Greensburg
Behrend came out hitting seven of their first ten shots to go up 15-10. They maintained a small lead throughout the first half and went into the break up by four 32-28. Brittany Mays (Knox/Keystone) led all Behrend scorers at the half with eight points to go along with her two boards and three assists. The women shot 50% from the field, hitting 14 of 28. Behrend went on to outscore the Bobcats 40-35 in the second half to secure the nine point victory. Mays finished with 18 points, five assists, and three rebounds. Julia Andrus (Corry/Corry) and Victoria Innes (Erie/McDowell) each added 15. Innes also added 10 boards to finish with the double-double. Leading the way for Greensburg was Kelsey Wilcox who had a game-high 21 points along with 12 boards. Behrend finished shooting 46% from the floor and, while holding Pitt-Greensburg to 37%. The Behrend women will be on the floor again on Friday, December 15 when they welcome Chatham. From there, the women host their annual Winter Classic on December 29 and 30.
