Behrend's Mays Earns ECAC Player of the Week Honors

Behrend women's basketball shooting guard, Brittany Mays (Keystone/Knox) has benn named the division III south region Player of the Week for the week of January 15.  Mays led the women to a pair of impressive victories last week, including a one-point thriller over the #23 team in the nation, Medaille.

Mays stepped up in back-to-back wins for the Behrend Lions, to move into first place in the AMCC standings.  Against the Mavericks, Mays had 17 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists.  She followed up with a 16 point, 9 rebound, 3 assist effort versus La Roche to finish the week averaging 16.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists.

On the season, Mays ranks sixth in the league in scoring (14.4 ppg), ninth in rebounding (7.2 rpg), and fifth in steals (2.6 spg).  She is also closing in on the 1,000 point club for her career.  She currently has 967 career points to go along with her 385 career boards.

The blue and white now sit at 12-2 overall and 7-1 in the AMCC and are on an impressive nine game winning streak.  They welcome Lake Erie into the Junker Center on Thursday, January 18.
