Penn State Behrend Lions Win Tenth Straight With Victory Over Storm

The Penn State Behrend Lions (13-2, 8-1) continued their winning ways, earning their tenth straight victory with a 48-44 victory over the Lake Erie Storm (4-10, 4-5) on Thursday, January 18 in the Junker Center.

Behrend earned the four point victory by holding a spirited Lake Erie squad to 28% shooting from the floor.  The game was tied at 25 at the end of the first half but the visiting storm could not get the shots to fall, and made only nine of 33 chances in the second half.

Julia Andrus (Corry/Corry) was big on the night, coming through with a double-double, pacing the squad with 17 points and 11 rebounds.  Senior Brittany Mays (Keystone/Knox) had 15 points, pushing her career number to 982 points scored.  Meagan Bielanin (Erie/Mercyhurst Prep) also contributed to the win by grabbing eight rebounds and handing out five assists.

Lake Erie was led by Amanda Stover's nine point, four rebound night and Loni Sargent's four point, eight rebound effort.

The Behrend Lions remain tied for first in the AMCC and will host Frostburg State on Saturday, January 20 at 2:00 p.m. in the Junker Center.
