Behrend's Julia Andrus Earns Academic All-District Status

Behrend women's basketball standout Julia Andrus (Corry/Corry) has been named second-team ESPN The Magazine All-District by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).  The Academic All-America program features eight districts with first-team selections moving on to the national ballot.

Andrus has averaged 13.5 points and four rebounds a contest while starting in all 22 of Behrend games to date.  Off the court, Andrus carries an impressive 3.87 grade point average with a major in biology.  The women have clinched a first-round bye in the AMCC conference tournament and boast a record of 19-3 overall, 16-2 in the conference.

"I am proud of Julia for achieving this honor," said coach Fornari.  "She works hard on and off the court.  It is nice to have players who have high expectations and meet them both academically and athletically."

Behrend will close out their regular season on the road at Lake Erie on Wednesday, February 14 and then at home for their final game against Pitt-Bradford.
