Penn State Behrend Lions Lose to #11 Ranked Medaille Mavericks

The Behrend Lions (11-11, 9-6) lost to the AMCC leading Medaille Mavericks 59-44 on Wednesday night in the Junker Center in front of 178 fans. 

In the first half, Medaille shot 53% from the field and created an 11-point advantage entering the break.

Senior Julia Andrus (Corry/Corry), who has scored 57 points over the past three games, led the offense with six points and four rebounds during the first twenty minutes. Also, Anne Priester (Wattsburg/Seneca) came off the bench with energy and produced five points and five rebounds.

For the game, Medaille's defense forced 22 Behrend turnovers and made seven blocks as they won for the twentieth time in twenty-one tries.

Andrus finished with nine points, and Priester hauled down a game-high eight rebounds. Amanda Baker led the Mavericks with 12 markers.

Earlier this season, the Mavericks (20-2, 14-1) dropped Behrend by a 52-26 margin in Buffalo.

The blue and white will play two more at home in the next week.  First up on Saturday, February 16 will be a 6:00 p.m. game against La Roche (14-7, 9-5). Then on Wednesday, February 20, the Lake Erie Storm (13-8, 11-3) will come to town. Tip-off is slated for 6:00 p.m.
