Andrus Earns ESPN The Magazine All-District Academic Honors
Behrend women's basketball standout Julia Andrus (Corry/Corry) has been named to the ESPN The Magazine All-District Academic Third-Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). A year ago, Andrus garnered second-team honors. Andrus has averaged 12.8 points and 3.9 rebounds a contest while starting in all 23 of Behrend games to date in her senior campaign. Andrus has recently entered the top-ten all-time scoring list at Behrend with a career total of 933 points. Off the court, Andrus carries an impressive 3.88 grade point average with a major in biology. The women currently sit fourth in the AMCC conference, with a league record of 10-6. “Julia has been one of the strongest students this program has ever had,” said head coach Roz Fornari. “She is planning on doing something in the medical field with her Biology degree and I am sure she will be successful in what ever she decides to do.” Behrend will host their last home game of the season at they look to take on Lake Erie College Wednesday, February 20. Then on Saturday they travel to Pitt-Bradford. With a good two-game performance, Behrend may earn the opportunity to host a AMCC first-round game in the Junker Center on Tuesday, February 26. |
