Penn State Behrend Women Earn 2005 All-Conference Honors

The Penn State Behrend women's soccer team contributed a total of seven athletes to the AMCC's annual all-conference teams, more than any other team in the conference. 

The all-conference first team included three Behrend players.  Senior Michelle Newland (Glenshaw/Fox Chapel) capped a four year career at Behrend with four straight all-conference team appearances.  Stephanie Bowen (Pittsburgh/Peters Twp.) also had her fourth straight all-conference appearance, each time making first-team.  Junior goalkeeper Dara Nielsen (Cranberry Twp./Seneca Valley) finished an incredible with 69 saves and nine shutouts.

Making the all-conference second team was senior Holly Griener (McKean/General McLane), who led all Behrend players with 14 goals, junior Kara Struski (Meadville/Meadville), who finished with a team-high eight assists, and freshman Nikki Frisbee (Valencia/Mars), who contributed 11 goals and seven assists on the year. 

Earning all-conference honorable mention was senior midfielder Kacie Burns (Cheswick/Springdale).  Burns finished the season with seven points.
