Behrend Women Kick Off at Home With Annual Herb Lauffer Tournament

Behrend women's soccer starts their home schedule September 15-16, when host the annual Herb Lauffer Memorial Tournament.  The tournament will feature four games and kicks off on Friday at 3:00 p.m. with Behrend squaring off against Westminster.  The blue and white will also be in action against Thomas More on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.

"This tournament is always a great way to open up the home season," said coach Patrick O'Driscoll.  "As in the past, we have some strong teams coming in that will help us prepare for the upcoming conference schedule."

Last season, the Behrend women finished 1-1 in the tournament.  They were upended 3-2 in the first game by Washington and Jefferson, but then came back in the consolation game to win 2-0 over Juniata.

Women's soccer has begun the season at 1-1, beating Mt. Union 3-0 before falling 2-0 to Fredonia.  They face Washington and Jefferson on September 12 and then prepare for the tournament.  After that, the blue and white will be back home on September 21 against Allegheny.  Conference play starts on September 23, when Mt. Aloysius comes to the Behrend Fields.
