Behrend Women's Soccer Falls 3-0 to Tough Allegheny Squad

The Behrend women’s soccer team fell 3-0 to the Gators of Allegheny Thursday, September 21.  The loss evens Behrend’s mark at 3-3-1, while Allegheny improves to 5-2 on the season.

Striking first was Ashley Miller for Allegheny.  Miller found the net 31 minutes into the first half off a Jillian Bolton pass.  Allegheny closed out the half on top 1-0 after outshooting Behrend 8-4.

Allegheny would add to their lead in the second half, when Christy McShea booted one in on a pass from Katie Murphy.  Sara Beth Berner took a McShea cross pass out of the air in the 34th minute of the second half to secure the victory.  The blue and white finished with 11 shots to the Gators 16.  Kayla Frost (Venetia/Peters Township) faced 9 shots on goal and tallied 6 saves. 

The game marked the last of non-conference play, as the women will open up against AMCC competition on Saturday, September 23 when the Mt. Aloysius Mounties come into town.
