Behrend Lions Defeat the Hilbert Hawks 2-0 on the Behrend Fields

The Behrend women’s soccer landed another home victory Wednesday with an easy
2-0 win over the Hilbert Hawks. Behrend, winners of seven of their past eight games, improves to 7-1 in the AMCC and 10-4-1 overall. The Hawks fall to 2-3-2 and 6-5-2 on the season.

Behrend outshot Hilbert 16-6 in the first half with ten of Behrend's shots being on goal. Both of Behrend's goals were scored by sophomore sensation Beth Manganaro (Pittsburgh/Chartiers Valley),  who leads the blue and white in goals scored this season, connected on her eighth and ninth goals of the season in the win. Danielle DeMay (Bethel Park/Bethel Park) earned her second assist of the season on Manganaro's second goal of the day.

In goal Kayla Frost (Venetia/Peters Township) and Christine Wiktorowski (Kenmore, NY/Kenmore West) combined to post the shutout with each playing one half as Behrend improves to 5-2 on the Behrend Fields.

Next up for the blue and white with be a pair of home contests this weekend. Penn State Altoona (4-5-3, 1-3-2) travels to Erie this Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. AMCC start, while Carnegie Mellon (5-6-1) plays at Behrend on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in non-conference action.
