Downs Rival Frostburg 1-0, Now 7-0 in AMCC The first half was a back and fourth battle from the start, with both teams seeing ample scoring opportunities. Halfway through the first half defender Katie Ritchey (Butler/Butler) had a great opportunity from 30 yards out. The ball began to curve towards the goal and hit the post, nearly missing the goal. The half ended tied at zero. The second half brought more of the same from these two battling teams. Frostburg looked like they were going to strike first, but goalkeeper Kayla Frost (Venetia/Peters Township) made back to back remarkable saves to keep the score 0-0. Then in the 52nd minute Behrend was awarded a corner kick that was taken by Caitlyn Elser (Cranberry/Seneca Valley). As the ball was flighted, midfielder Kim Chapman (Cranberry/Seneca Valley) made a back post run and connected with the ball. Frostburg's goalie attempted the save but was too late. This would be the only goal the Behrend Lions needed to defeat their rivals. The women went on to win 1-0.
