Continuing Education

Continuing Education at Penn State Erie offers a full range of programs and services utilizing the unique resources of the college and the University.  The center provides quality educational programs to meet the needs of organizations and people at all stages of life.  Training programs can be delivered to employees on-site or at a location of choice.  The corporate training team will customize the training to address specific organizational issues and needs.  The goal is to provide high-quality training that will enhance employee performance, retain critical personnel, and upgrade workforce skills and abilities.  The center has a solid track record, with many repeat requests for training.

Plastics Engineering Technology Program

The Plastics Engineering Technology program at Penn State Erie offers a hands-on, application-based educational program within the School of Engineering and Engineering Technology.  The program is one of only three in the country that is accredited by the Technology Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (TAC/ABET).  The program is staffed with seven full-time, industrial-seasoned faculty and numerous support personnel who teach and direct more than 200 enrolled students.  The program draws some of the best students from Pennsylvania and boasts a graduate placement of virtually 100 percent.

Plastics Technology Center

The Plastics Technology Center (PTC) is a manufacturing outreach program operated in partnership with the Northwest Pennsylvania Industrial Resource Center and Penn State Erie.  The center is dedicated to promoting competitiveness and growth, both in products and knowledge, in the smaller business sectors where it is needed most.  This is offered through engineering services in product design and development and general consultation, using the latest in engineering software and techniques available to industry.
