  • Due to repeated vandalism, the computer kiosk printer in the Reed building has been remporarily removed.  A new security cabinet is being constructed to better protect this printer from tampering and paper theft.  Thank you for your patience as these steps are taken.  - posted 11/15/05

  • Please note that Penn State's download site (downloads.its.psu.edu) now has a Cisco VPN client that includes an option for "ITS Wireless at Behrend". - posted 09/26/05

  • Have you heard?  Students can pick up a pen drive from the Computer Center help desk between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, in H135.  There is no charge for the pen drive (since the cost was covered by the IT fee). - posted 09/09/05

  • Behrend provides a variety of mobility and wireless network locations on campus that require the use of Penn State’s SecureNet VPN (Virtual Private Network) service.  For details on how to connect, visit the Wireless and Mobility Network Access site. - posted 08/26/05

  • Lab upgrades are now completed in Hammermill 135 and 139.  Stop by to "test drive" the new PCs and monitors! - posted 06/30/05

  • Reminder... If you are a participant in the Wireless Card Lending Program, please return the card to the Computer Center no later than 4:00 PM on Friday, May 6. - posted 04/25/05

  • Students and faculty can now access software in the Computer Center's labs via a remote connection. To do so, just use your Web browser and go to: http://remotelab.psu-erie.bd.psu.edu/tsweb/. - posted 03/17/05

  • Penn State is now a participant in the Microsoft Developer Network Academic Alliance (MSDNAA) program.  This program allows students and faculty to purchase Microsoft software at reduced cost.  More details are available on-line or from the Computer Center help desk. - posted 02/07/05

  • Beginning January 25, anyone who uses Penn State's email services will be required to check their email via a secure-only connection using SSL (which encrypts data that is being transmitted).  To do so, users need to set up the SSL configuration in their email software. For instructions, see: Reconfiguring Email for POP Using SSL. If you need assistance, contact the help desk. - posted 01/20/05
