David Loker Named to Engineering Program Chair

David Loker, associate professor of engineering, has been appointed the new program chair for the Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology degree at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College.

Loker replaces Robert Weissbach, also an associate professor in the college’s School of Engineering, who is taking a one-year sabbatical to conduct research at Aalborg University in Denmark.

A Titusville native, Loker joined the Penn State Behrend engineering faculty in 1988; his teaching and research concentrations are in communication systems and measurement systems. He has published over 30 journal articles and conference proceedings. As program chair, he will be responsible for overall administrative operation and curricular development of the program’s two- and four-year degree options.

Loker holds degrees in electrical engineering from Gannon and Syracuse universities.
