Penn State Behrend and LORD Corporation Host Scholarship Information Session Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, and LORD Corporation will host an information session for the LORD Scholarship Program—a unique program for students enrolled, or planning to enroll, in engineering, technical and science disciplines at Penn State Behrend. The information session will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 7 p.m. in the Samuel P. “Pat” Black III Conference Center located in the Research and Economic Development Center (REDC) at Penn State Behrend. Parking will be available in the REDC deck located on Technology Drive, off Jordan Road. “The LORD scholarship program is designed to target future female and minority employees who want to stay in Erie after graduation,” said Jane Brady, assistant director of admissions and financial aid at Penn State Behrend. LORD Corporation Scholarships are available to students considering a major in computer, electrical, mechanical or software engineering, electrical and computer engineering technology, mechanical engineering technology, chemistry, or physics. Current and prospective Penn State Behrend students are eligible to apply. Established in 2008, LORD allotted $50,000 for the scholarship program over four years and students will have to apply for the scholarship each year. Scholarship recipients will have the opportunity to apply for internships, co-ops and summer employment with LORD. In addition, Penn State Behrend students will be given the opportunity to obtain mentoring from professionals at LORD and apply for full-time employment with the corporation. To ensure adequate scholarship materials are available, all attendees are asked to RSVP by Monday, Feb. 23, to Jane Brady at 814-898-6456 or jub9@psu.edu.
