RFID Center to Host Fourth Annual Conference * Conference Canceled * The RFID Center of Excellence will host its fourth annual conference, “RFID Enterprise Integration: From Systems to Solutions,” on Wednesday, August 12, in the Research and Economic Development Center (REDC) at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College. The one-day conference will focus on how companies can maximize return on investment by integrating radio frequency identification (RFID) technology into their businesses. Presenters from four organizations entrenched in RFID technology—GE Aviation, IBM Software Group, GS1 US, and OATSystems—will host hour-long sessions. Topics will include strategies for integrating RFID with ERP or other data management systems, the use of RFID to improve processes, plus individual experiences and lessons learned. More than 200 industry professionals plus corporate exhibitors are expected to attend. This year’s conference is co-hosted by Penn State Behrend and the Center for eBusiness and Advanced IT (eBizITPA). Event sponsors are the Sam and Irene Black School of Business at Penn State Behrend, Ben Franklin Technology Partners, RFID Solutions Online, and the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. The RFID Center of Excellence is an outreach unit of the Sam and Irene Black School of Business at Penn State Behrend. Since its inception in 2005, the RFID Center has trained more than 820 industrial professionals and well over 2,000 students, hosted three RFID conferences with 500 attendees, recruited 13 industry members, and collaborated on various research and senior design projects.
