Pinto Wins Project Management Institute's 2009 Research Award
Dr. Jeffrey Pinto, professor of management at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, has received the 2009 Research Achievement Award from the Project Management Institute. The award was presented during the PMI Global Congress held in Orlando, Fla., earlier this month.
The Research Achievement Award recognizes and honors an individual who has significantly advanced the concepts, knowledge, and practices of project management through professionally conducted and authored project-management research. The award particularly acknowledges the careers of project-management scholars and long-term research productivity. Pinto is the author or editor of 23 books and over 120 research papers, and his work has been translated into nine languages. He also is a two-time recipient of PMI’s Distinguished Contribution Award for service to the project management profession.
With more than half a million members and credential holders in over 170 countries, PMI is the leading membership association for the project management profession.
Pinto holds the Andrew Morrow and Elizabeth Lee Black Chair in Management Technology within the Sam and Irene Black School of Business. His teaching and research focus are in the areas of project management and the management of technology and organizational innovation.
