Penn State Behrend to Host Annual All-Majors Career Fair Current College Students Welcome The Academic and Career Planning Center at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, will host the college’s annual Career Fair on Tuesday, Oct. 6, from noon to 4 p.m., in the Junker Center.
The 2009 Career Fair is open to all Penn State students and alumni as well as current college students enrolled at other universities. Attendees will be required to show their college or university identification in order to register. Advance registration is not required. Currently, more than 90 companies are expected to attend in search of filling entry-level full-time, part-time, internship and co-op opportunities. Historically, Penn State Behrend’s Career Fair has drawn more than 600 students. “Despite the economy, companies who have requested on-campus interviewing is at an all-time high with 20 percent planning to stay on campus to conduct face-to-face interviews with top candidates,” said Carol Capan, employer relations coordinator. The employers represent a cross-section of Penn State Behrend’s academic programs from the college’s four schools—Sam and Irene Black School of Business, School of Engineering, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and School of Science—and its nursing program. National corporations as well as local companies are participating, including Booz Allen Hamilton, PPG Industries and Westinghouse Electric Co. along with Dr. Gertrude A. Barber National Institute, Erie VA Medical Center, Nexstar Broadcasting and Perseus House. Click here for a complete list of employers scheduled to attend. |
