Program Overview
The primary objective of this course is to empower managers, leaders, department heads, and all other employees in supervisory roles to utilize coaching to enhance leadership effectiveness and improve employee performance. Motivated and engaged employees can produce positive outcomes and impacts for companies, organizations, and stakeholders. This eight-hour course/seminar will focus on developing leadership coaching skills in managers that enable those individuals to more effectively lead team members to greater performance. This includes helping people adapt to change, deal with and reduce conflict, link personal motivations with organizational goals, become more engaged, and create greater levels of personal and professional satisfaction. Through this course, participants will come to understand that by improving these aspects of team dynamics, employee satisfaction and performance will achieve demonstrable improvement.
To foster these outcomes, leaders must create and facilitate cultures of coaching, accountability, and employee empowerment. This course will prepare participants with the fundamental skills of coaching, help individuals to develop an effective style of coaching leadership, and enable leaders to apply coaching techniques and strategies that maximize the efficacy of their team dynamics with businesses.
This seminar will take the I.C.F. Coaching Competencies and put them into a context appropriate for participants who will essentially become "internal coaches" within their organizations. In addition to coaching models, concepts such as listening, being aware, understanding bias and bounded awareness, motivation theory, change theory, and conflict will also be addressed in order to build "coaching presence" in participants.
Leading by Coaching can provide a pathway for leaders, managers, supervisors, and others to increase the effectiveness of interpersonal and working relationships. Through this program, participants will develop techniques to assess, listen, observe, and customize their approach to individual leadership development and coaching.
